When we were totally high up with all the fantasy elements that are already present, we get a white stork, and the plot twist that Sam Jang is supposed to save the world and every human, and Son Oh Gong should kill her for that. The fact that the leads actually slept with each other made it very realistic. It is really our nature to compare... So many useless side character in this drama that goes no where, maybe the writer don't know how to cut out the unimportant character and plot.
I also need to mention that Hwayugi is not what it is without Cha Seung Won. Yet I'm still going to continue watching this drama because I would like the see the characters develop a bit more. Print to see him in some new drama, and with Lee Seung Gi, these two work great together. I'm actually a school drama lover, and clicking this drama's thumbnail was one of the right-est thing i've ever did in my life. We realize the monotonous pattern was being solo. Freaky love her in come back mister so, this helpless girl character might not suit her well.
Because Sun Oh Gong is clearly going to do his best to find another solution. It did not even show son oh gong and Sam jang being reunited together,I was actually wanting it to end with the whole group,with there friends,nevertheless the drama was soooooo good,I really love not just the end I felt like I already miss the characters. If you now still watch this episode, I congratulate you bcs yknow the storyline already show a progression and start moving forward they started in eps 11-12 but no as intense as eps 13-14 this week.

Son O-Gong is like Kim Shin in the way that they are both supernatural beings whose fate is bound to a mortal girl that they will eventually fall in love with. Both are also somewhat of an outcast and considered powerful in the spirit world. Jin Sun-Mi is like Ji Eun-Tak in the way that they are both the girl this supernatural being loves and somehow can make said being change for good. Typical Damsel in Distress in the drama world I guess. Also this is kinda reversed here since King Woo Whee owns the house and Sun O-Gong is the one bunking with him. I love them both oh so much more than the mains. Chairman Yoon Dae-Sik is like Chairman Yoo Shin-Woo for obvious reasons like they are both thw chairman oh chaebols and they work for the Main Supernatural beings of the respective series. I just love this woman. She appears on both series. I like her character on Goblin more though since she's so powerful there. But I get to see her more here in Hwayugi. I just wanna say SUMMER FAIRY ROCKS!!! Sung Hyuk is soo awesome! Girls, get you a man who can rock the best of both worlds. You get a handsome boyfriend and a beautiful girlfriend all wrapped in one with him. I know other people found the acting lacking in one way or another, but I think the whole team did a great job. You can't say that you didn't enjoy at least ONE episode of this, if so then you ain't human. There was no chemistry between the main leads, Lee Seung-Gi's acting was a bit off - I mean I've seen better works of him... This is the one of my favourite Korean Drama of 2018. The Plot is too little complicated but I try to watched it until the finale episode. I hope there will be SEASON 2 for this drama. Son Oh Gong will go to the underworld to get Sam jang. I like the scene when Jonathan hug Sunmi and O gong was like jealous and he ran to her and hug her and kiss her.. OMG that scene is very cute and unpredictable. But i dont like the ending though.. PLEASE MAKE SEASON 2 and make it happy ending hahaha. And it would better if Jin sunmi reborn and meet O gong again and the ending... There things that were not explained thoroughly like how did Ohgong ended up in five elements mountain and also to mawang's wife. And how about the bride doll? The ending was so disappointing cause I was expecting that sam jang is the very powerful but she just died in the end, I just dont get it. They are so focus to the romantic side of this drama which was not very helpful. NO, Acting wise, it's a two thumbs up. I just hate how the story flows up until the end. It should have been better. High production value, excellent casting, good chemistry, unnecessarily slow. I fast forwarded several episodes and seriously, they can trim up the episodes. I started to enjoy the series from episode 15 forward, but it's unnecessarily slowing down again and again. The ending is quite good and satisfying though. I just finished this drama after marathoning it and I really liked it. Sure the special effects were FAR from being the best, and sometimes it was quite off putting, and sure there were a few plot holes there and there but overall I enjoyed it. The OST was also very good, which always helps :D I'm just very mad with this ending... Spoiler alter: Wouldn't the end have been better if we saw both SunMi and Oh Gong in the car? We get to know he plans to get her out of the deads' world, so why not show them like escaping real quick that's not even necessary too , then boom, the exact same ending with Seung Gi in the car but with her too this time. I think such an ending would have been a lot better and very fulfiling. They tried to let it open but with the very light atmosphere of the end it's just so obvious they want to make him find her. Just having them both smiling or laughing in that car scene with the song at the very end would have been awesome. Also it didn't help that their reunion was a bit a lot meh when he remembers everything... More emotions maybe no?? Dramas almost never know how to end in my opinion. It's such a shame. I just finished watching this drama. I found the female lead very annoying. She seemed like strong female lead in the first episode but from episode 2 it was like she wanted us to hate her. The only saving grace of this show was the comedy which was not often. The supporting characters were good and could have made the show better if they were given more screen time. Song oh gong was no better, he lacked dimension. This drama introduces too many characters but leaves their story unfinished. I would not recommend this drama. Probably one of my favourite drama of all time! I want a season 2 so bad because I'm missing the characters a lot. The actors and actresses' acting skill in this drama is so amazing. Plus, I'm sure there are still things that the followers of this drama are kinda curious of, they can continue the plot and I would love to watch it. I very much enjoyed this fantasy story, especially the allusions to the traditional stories, such as journey to the west and so on. Actually, would be nice to know more background of the world the story takes place in.. There was the exact right amount of unforced comical scenes and some although tragic, but still relatively light romance. I enjoyed the ensemble of the actors and now I miss them : Though, the main character - I wish she had been given a better chance at fighting for herself - although her fight was essentially mental, I was left with the feeling that she could have been given more action. Still, I appreciate her strength of spirit. Let's just say - I would watch a second season. I so love the chemistry of Lee Seung Gi and Oh Yeon Seo. I was never a fan of Seung Gi and I never knew Yeon Seo until I watched this series. Everyone in the drama played their characters very well. I will forever love this drama series. I still hope that there's still a chance for Seung Gi and Yeon Seo to end up together in the future, they are both cool! I heard Yeon Seo is dating Kim Bum.. The premise is good, but the plot is lacking. The characters say really contradicting things, one second this and the next the opposite. I'm most disappointed in the female lead who lacks dimension, even though the actress is more than capable of acting interesting characters. I'm on episode 5 and it feels like watching more I'd be just wasting my time. Tbh i really did NOT like this drama!!!! It just dint make sense... I watched dis drama just for lee sung gi... Lee seung as always was amazing!!! But cha seung won.. He was just out of this world!!!! His acting left me speechless... Those 2 were the oly reason i watched this drama till the end... Oh yeon seo was hopeless.... I wouldn't call wat she did as acting... Spoliers alert: I really dont understand why seon mi went to the valley in the 19th epi... It literally felt like she went there just to get stabbed... Her role in this drama was just overrated... I expected something cool to happn at the end in the hands of sam jang.. Dat damsel in distress goes n gets stabbed.... This whole drama was pointless!! I'm up to ep12 and really loving this drama as it's progressing, more so than Goblin. Not sure why the TV stats are so low - it deserves more as this drama is so enjoyable. I like Lee Seung-Gi in this drama and plays the role perfectly. Chemistry between the two leads, not to much the other relationships and their acting in the drama, are endearing. Seung-Gi is now my favorite actor. I've read little blips on the ending and not wanting to ruin it, I hope it turns out better. Major comeback for Lee Seung-Gi am so happy to see him again he was DAEBAK! The casting was also perfect the shots of the scenery felt realistic for me but as for the effects not so specially with the part of the Dragon and the fire effects. The story was passable for me it gave me a nostalgic moment for me since it was made by the Hong sisters some of the episode made me think of Master's Sun. But the the story of Ma-Wang and Princess Iron Fan story broke my heart a thousand times also the moment with Taoist Fairy Ha she was my favorite character they made me cry so much. Sung Hyuk was also DAEBAK!!!! For playing two characters he was really Beautiful dress up as woman and OMO his voice is to heavenly. PLEASE CONSIDER SEASON 2!!! This was a very good drama, I really really loved and enjoyed this drama. Although the ending was a cliffhanger, but I wasn't so disappointed with it, for me it was more a realistic ending rather than ending it with some kind of happy ending. The story line was really great, this drama kinda remind me of Goblin. The chemistry was also great. This drama could make you cry in 0. Lee Seung Gi really did a great job, but I like Cha Seung Won more. I think Cha Seung Won did a really really great job, he acted really well in the drama, he made me laugh so hard, and when he was sick in the drama, he acted really really good, his acting was really good that it could make you feel he was sick for real. The casts were really good, they made the story became more powerful and strong. This drama has become my most favourite drama of all time. IF YOU DONT LIKE HORROR, JUST KEEP ON WATCHING IT because it is not that scary and you wont see ghosts after you watch 10 episodes. But like literally, this drama is so intriguing and the cliffhangers just leave you no choice but to binge watch haha. Now i dunno if i should continue watch it or not unless there is season 2 coming up.... But the hero is a black bird. He can transform to black bird. And at least the story end with they getting married. Have a very strong baby son which almost kill the heroine and how the hero hate the child and so on. It full of roller coaster emotion but overall it end with happy ending. I hope Japan can make Black Bird live action series as well and available on Netflix! I loved this so much the last 2 episodes I was in tears the entire time. I'm very interested if jin song mi idk if i spelt her name right? But i have no idea if there will be a second season but i would love to watch more its one of my favourite dramas and ive got so attached to every single one. Every single death felt like it was someone who i knew in real life because thats what the drama was like it made you believe that you knew them and that you had a relationship with the characters. Hahaha, octopus use Alice body just to die at the end? I don't see why they need to use the octopus at the first place, even Alice is not really functioning in this drama. There's no development on each character, only after few last episode they like rushing over their plot and character development. Like last minute work. No wonder their ratings keep drop. I stayed because of Seunggi oppa, no other reason. This is just my opinion but for me, I'm very picky with my dramas and I'm not a huge fan of the Hong Sisters writing because they always disappoint me but I decided to give this one a chance because it looked promising but man do I regret taking time to watch this one. This is the last time I will ever watch any drama written by the Hong Sisters. I wanted to like this drama. I had high hopes for this drama. I mean all of the actors and actresses were great. It's just the way the story was handle was terrible. It was all over the place. I'm not going to give another chance to a drama written by the Hong sisters because I believe they'll just continue to write terribly no matter how great the actors or actresses. Okay I started watching this drama when there was only 4 episodes out, I loved the characters and unique storyline, I loved how even side characters had their own story. Many characters in this show have a sad past so you wish for them to have a happy ending but the writers will crush your heart. Octopus guy barely had any role in the story, no actual purpose, he was just there to die. Even the villain shaman was misunderstood and felt bad as she became the way she was due to love which she never received till the end... The writers could have made her turn good and who got her wish fulfilled which was even friendship love but she got nothing. The open ending for me was okay but anticlimatic and needing for second season but thats almost impossible from a Korean series : Would love to see guys meeting their loved ones again and seeing more heaven and netherworld. IF there is that rare chance for second season to come they should definitely finish the story halfway or near end episodes and then release it to get more time for better cgi. Watching this drama from the start, I was always so excited to see that new episode came out. This drama was so good that I liked every character in it, and as an artist I made 5 portreits of main actor Lee Seung Gi. Never before did I watch him in any drama, and because of this one, while waiting for new episode to come out I finished watching all of his dramas and became his big fan. Cha Seung Won made me laugh so hard whole time that I cried from laughing. He is an handsome actor who can act so good that you can love him as funny Tourus in this drama and cool detective in You're All Surrounded. I will make sure to draw him too. Hope to see him in some new drama, and with Lee Seung Gi, these two work great together. Oh Yeon Seo is so crazy beautiful, she needs only little bit of make up and looks like queen. I never watched her before but now I will make sure to keep up with her work and watch her dramas. OST in this drama is amazing, songs stick to you and you keep to sing then, expecialy LET ME OUT. It fits good to this drama and mekes you to sing along. If you didnt watch it you should, because it has everything, it is funny, scary, fantasy is breath taking, to think that someone made this up, story is so interesting and I can just be amazed with it. And most important thing to me ROMANCE is so strong that I get excited with every kiss, these two actors do it so good together, like they are real. At first this drama is really enjoyable but at the middle it start to plain.. The ending is okay even though not a really happy ening but still acceptable and not cliche. I start watch this drama bcoz of hongki miss his acting so much? Still hwayugi is still recommended to watch? This drama is perfect. I loved nearly all episodes and fell in love with Lee El. Sam Jang started as a strong independent character, became one of the most not so clever and irrelevant character. The character of Bu Ja was introduced early in the drama and the audience was lead to expect a lot of development and story. However She pitifully disappeared half way through the drama, never came back and was only briefly mentioned at the end. Is this drama supposed to be a fantasy romance or a melodrama? I love the casts and I think they did a great job portraying their characters. However story script especially the ending was trash and could have been a lot better. Hong sisters did it again--ruined a very good show's ending. When will she die? I can't believe they ruined the ending like this. Hwayugi is definitely a twist from Journey to the West. I will have to admit the acting by each individual are exceptional. It seem like everyone falls in love with Son O-Gong, but I can help to say my favorite character is Ma Wang. Those who are irritated with the Pig, just means he did a great job with his acting. Honestly, I watch JTTW 20+ years ago... I am interested in how this will play out, since Sam Jung is human and Son-o gong is a deity. This has been one long drama. It got boring somewhere in the middle. But since the Priestess took over Bu ja... Not a fan of Sam Jung holiness... I like her more sassy in my Sassy girl. But my surprise was big when I found myself waiting impatiently for the next episode... The role play is just top the caracters are so attaching! I like the California Gurl's comment below. I have a feeling she will be given a wardrobe makeover in the last episode as she becomes a sacrificial offering to the beast. Having been followed this drama this far, I sincerely hope that its ending will be meaningful and interesting. I would like to express my appreciation of this well made drama. The casting is great! Also, the main couple truly deserves an award. They both complimented each other in visuals and acting. I must say that this onscreen couple is one of my favorites and truly hoping that somehow they will truly end up having feelings for each other in real life. They just really look good together. OYS is very beautiful but how they dressed her up made her look older. They made a make over of Buja and she was beautiful. Sam Jang is still beautiful even with slight make up and crappy clothings but I was hoping that as she becomes prettier in Great Sage eyes, she will be transformed into a more beautiful Sam Jang, more brighter and lovelier. That is my only complain in this series. OYS confession was heartfelt. The kiss was passionate enough to move our hearts and at the same time it was very sweet and tender. It was so unique and just unforgettable. I hope they really win plenty of awards as a couple. All the cast did great although I am annoyed at the pigs character. I bet you, he will ruin something again in the next 2 episodes. I hope he vanish in this series... Just expressing my annoyance. It's not a common background music. Its upbeat makes it unique and catchy. I had LSS because of it. The story line, the effects, and the delivery of lines is really awesome. Y Also, the acting of each character is so great. Because Sun Oh Gong is clearly going to do his best to find another solution. My fave kdrama this season! This has been my 1 kdrama since its 1st episode!! Lee Seung Gi's portrayal of his character is so spot on and no less than perfect. Truth be told, I've seen him in many dramas before but I never became a fan until I watch this series. My initial reason to watch this was Oh Yeon Seo but just after watching the 1st episode, I suddenly needed Lee Seung Gi like air!! The casting in this series is really perfect. This series is being aired on tvN, a cable channel which means, it has a smaller audience than the public broadcasters like SBS Hwayugi actually ranked as the most watched of it's time slot, both cable and public and is actually a record breaker for the highest ratings for 1st episode amongst all tvN drama that was ever produced for the adolescent-middle aged audience!! This is one of the best dramas I've ever watched so I'm hoping for a good ending!!!!!! This is totally my favourite 1 fantasy drama now! The casts, the plot, the screenwriters are all awesome. I watched it because of Oh Yeon So, the female lead playing Jin Sun Mi and I did not expect falling for actor Lee Seung Gi! I first watched him in Brilliant Legacy but it's only now I appreciated how handsome he is and how good an actor he is. I also need to mention that Hwayugi is not what it is without Cha Seung Won! His acting is brilliant and HILAROUS! I hope it will have a happy and satisfying ending! It has to like Goblin. Keep releasing daebak dramas, hwaiting Hwayugi Team! Samjang is always alone since kid, now she get a person that guide her and love her, so probably she is too affraid that ohgong will leave or betray her... But at the otherside she relize that ohgong's love are beacuse of geumganggo that she think she shouldn't too care about her love but because she still love him, she gets easily angry. I think that's why samjang is easily mad or jealous. They need to show something to make her show an extend of love towards Son O-Gong to make the audience see that she loves him to some certain extend or her love for him is sincere. Son O-Gong has no reason to trust her since he's been betrayed by a human before but he still wants to put that aside, on top of that he knows the magical bracelet makes him love her the way he does but he is willing to fight the heavens and put his life on the line for her sake. She needs to be more sincere with Son O-Gong and stop pretending or denying her feelings for him. PS, I still love this drama very much. Sam jang always wants to know if oh gong is sincere or not but from wherever I look I feel like Sam Jang does not like Oh Gong as much as he loves her and there is no sincerity in her loving him. She gets jealous, angry and plays hard to get its normal but I just believe that she think she loves him merely bc she feel attached. I wish I could see more sincerity in future. I do not want oh gong to die: To sum up this drama, they have a really fast moving forward storyline in the first two episode. And then the episodes just slowed down but the 3rd and 4th episodes is still good eventho the peforma isnt like eps 1 and 2. In this state some of us might suspect it is okay, maybe they need a variety and decide to slowed down a bit on behalf of the intense previous eps. The slow and boring plot start to catch us up in eps 5. We realize the monotonous pattern was being repeated. Some of us maybe start to stop watching in this week. But if you stay... It may because 1. You're Seunggi's trash, well stay no matter what beeeetch 2. You're rooting for Samjang and Oh Gong's love story 3. Or Pal Gye and Buja's chemistry perhaps? Or even the bickering rivaly slash bromance between a monkey and a bull and another jokes in between????? All goodlooking actor and actress are here, btw this is my first time see Oh Yeon Seo and just realize that she is very beautiful, start to search her on the google and I think she is a good actress.. The story start getting boring. I hope they don't go back and forth with the leads romance, and I really hope they don't focus on that too much. Ji Seon Mi was already seeing monster even before freeing him up. There was no need to be angry at Oh Gong... One thing I am always concerned about is that why is Ji Seon Mi able to see demons and how does her grand mom know that Oh Gong was destined to be saving her even when she was a child epi 2 reference.. I feel that Ji Seon Mi must have been the one who betrayed Oh Gong in previous life. Oh Gong may have been locked up as his punishment and Ji Seon Mi born with rough childhood able to see demon as her punishment... Probably in this life they were destined to be met to correct their past mistake.. Hope that they give us an answer in further episodes i'm hooked! No one could portray Great Sage better than him! He gives up his only chance to drink alcoholic for JSM to see her grandma again.. How could we not in love with him? I need to prepare tissue for the 2nd half drama for sure! I'm going to put my trust to Hong Sisters till the end.. After watch the preview of episode 9, it is a lil bit confusing but I think the story will get more interesting because it can be a chance to look at SOG real feeling to JSM, is he still cares to JSM even JSM is not the owner of the Geumganggo, even she can't control his feeling? It has been a long time since a find a really good drama that can make me addict to it.. I love all of this drama, the plot story and also the cast.. I love the bromance of SOG and MW.. I think I'm starting to ship them!! Cha Seung Won is my most favorite character, weird and just all over the place! Overall It's an enjoyable drama though it has not reached yet Goblin nor Master's sun level but again Master's sun was such a perfection, a master piece! Jan, Son O- Gong didn't mess up Jin Sun-Mi's life Ma wang did. Besides she was already involved in the supernatural world and also having a hard time before she got entangled with Ma Wang. They just made her life more interesting. Its ridiculous if the magic bracelet don't leave a lasting impression. There is always a price to pay in magic. Its already confirmed that his feelings for her has turned real when General Dong freeze the bracelet power for a while. I think the whole situation is they are helping each other. I can't pin point exactly WHAT was bugging me but I stuck to it since I love Oh Yeon Seo and Cha Seung Won. I'm used to her playing bubbly characters so to see her portray such a reserved character had me going??? I'm six episodes in and I'm starting to appreciate Jin Sun-Mi. She hasn't had the best life growing up and being ostracized has made her very closed off. She's smart though, using her powers in her favour but she's not the best at socializing. In comes Son O-Gong messing up her life and now she's caught up in Spirit World drama! I get where she's coming from with Son O-Gong. She knows what he feels isn't real and she doesn't want to take advantage of him so she's trying to keep her distance but he's making it so hard! And her keeping him at arms length is hurting him. I love how the Summer Fairy made that point to her. Even if the love isn't real, his pain is. Kind of blew my mind there. I know we're probably going to get a lot of angst concerning these two. I mean, Seung-Gi's face when he tells her he'll kill her and she'll be alone when this is all over... I really don't know her a month ago, I just know her after watching Hwayugi ep. It's just stressing me out. So yeah, I did some research about her after one to another, watching her interviews and videos available in YouTube -she's the only in casts in AKoreanOdyssey that I did some research since she's the only one that I'm not familiar with - and i watch her dramas, sorry to say this but at first when I decide to watched her dramas is not bcos of her?? And in 'Shine or go Crazy' she did pretty well too but the plot sucks! Her portrayal in PleaseComeBackMister made me an official fan of her. Damn, this woman outshined Lee Min Jung and Lee Honey in that drama tho the two actress did a very good job it's just that OhYeonSeo slayed and nailed her role as Gi tak and Hong nan. Her over-the-top performance in 'My Sassy Girl' prove once again how good she is. So here you go, Hwayugi. My cent is here. OhYeonSeo 's previous drama have a common denominator, BRIGHT CHARACTERS Jang Bo-ri is here was mixed, combination of tear-jerking drama and comedy after watching her dramas I realised that Hwayugi is her 1st drama that doesn't require her to use her comedic acting which I find it ironic since it's her specialty. Compare to her previous drama, her role Hwayugi is the weakest character she played, for some, because I never see her role in Hwayugi as weakest character she played at least for me. Like what I've said earlier, she's really amazing in comedy but in this drama she gives off a different vibe and I love how she uses her body and her eyes to talk for her. She doesn't need to open her mouth to say what she feels it's all written on her face, I wanna mention her eyes. Tho I already noticed how expressive her eyes in PleaseComeBackMister I just didn't gave much attention to it cos her portrayal as a brusque man in the drama was so amazing to notice anything. And wanna add one more thing, her character as Hwayugi is not a damsel-in- distress, tho at first episode I mistook her in the same character but as I watch the drama it's not. I actually love how honest she was and how brave she is to fight for her rights like,right how to live? Well she actually played the role well since viewers feel that she's weak I love how she and Oh Gong try to outsmart each other since she know that she's no par with ohGong when it comes to skills cos she's a mere human. She uses her brain, she approaches MaWang for GeumGangGo bracelet that just shows that she's not a damsel-in-distress and even from the start of the drama she's very vocal how she really wanted to live she's very honest of her vulnerability that's the reason why she needs protection from OhGong. She's not even depended to ohGong despite the fact that he's head-over-heels in love with her of course bcos of GeumGangGo as much as possible she wanted to rely to herlself than to anyone, but she can't since she's fighting to demons. And I wanna give her credit for acknowledging her weaknesses it just show how brave she is for facing those weaknesses in her 36 years of Existence ALONE. She's weak yes, but she's also brave. Lee seung gi will now forever be known as The monkey king to me-he owns the role so well. Cha seung won is still to show the emotional side -liked what little I have seen so far The Hong sisters have officially come back. This show will break some records for sure now! The moment when ma wang ran away in trying to avoid sam jang... I really love the cast as well they are doing a great job:. I've just finished watching episode 4 and I can't wait to see the next episodes. Even we all predicts that Lee seung gi must really fall in love with Oh yeon seo later on, but it's still sweet seeing both of them. Thisss drama is the only reason why i'm waking up early in the morning just to find out new episodes!!!!!! Loving chemistry between seung gi x yeon seo. I'm actually a school drama lover, and clicking this drama's thumbnail was one of the right-est thing i've ever did in my life. Romance, comedy, and horror were all set up in a drama and for me this is a great combo. Wishing all the cast and crew a life full of blast. Good storyline, perfect actor and actress, this drama is so recommended. It was interesting the first episode but I don't know why I lost interest. I can't tell if I want more or less romance or if there should be more fantasy scenes in here.. I found myself checking to see if the episode was almost done and I got bored easily. I may not have the same opinion as some of you but I'm not sure if I could go on watching episodes that are an hour and a half long when I don't enjoy it. I like the chemistry between Lee Seung Gi and Oh Yeon Soo but I feel impatient at the constant back and forth between them. I know it's part of the storyline and it makes it more interesting but it's not my taste. Maybe if they had a backstory to their lives like how and why the monkey king was locked up and explain more about the backstory of Cha Seung Won's character it would be more interesting. Also, not going to say which OST, but I found it annoying and a little out of place to be in this drama. I don't know why.. I agree that Oh Yeon Seo is so beautiful and really matched with Lee Seung Gi.. Just look at their photo before the drama airing, i already can feel their chemistry.. He's not worried about looking ridiculous for his age! Love the way he gets teased by Lee Seung gi and how they torment each other. Oh Yeon Seo is also a fabulous heroine that makes me root for her. After the actors, the storyline takes the crown for being so funny and unique. I couldn't watch Goblin but I can certainly watch this. I know this drama is going to be a hit because of the great storylines and casts. Love all these 4 great actors ; LSG, CSW, OYS and LHK and many other supporter casts. Both are totally different story although same genre. It is really our nature to compare... Why do we have to anyway? Can we just enjoy watching Hwayugi? There are different genres in here; fantasy, romance, comedy, horror, etc. You will find yourself entertained watching this drama. Why bother yourself to watch, or even finished an episode if by watching you found it unentertaining? And even post a not so good comment. Everything is so unoriginal and predictable, especially watching so many kdramas I should mention I have yet to seen Goblin as people seem to be comparing these two-I think they'd probably be equally as bad The lead actress SUCKS at acting. I would enjoy it a lot more if someone else played her role. I didn't think her features or expressions fit the role one bit. The plot is also ridiculously corny. Yet I'm still going to continue watching this drama because I would like the see the characters develop a bit more. Some people still don't get it. I have not finish Goblin yet.. Look at Signal K-drama and The Phone K-movie , they have a similar concept about call from the past. Look at Bruce Wyne and Tony Stark or Violent Prosecutor and Shawshank Redempt. Some similarity is common. Some or just a few, not all. And above of the similarities, they always provide us a unique viewpoint, a different adventure to enjoy. So, what's the matter? Wonder why some people get to dislike Hwayugi that much. I found myself really enjoy this drama, from the first episode. It is interesting, entertaining, and heart warming. I'm a fans of Monkey King story. I wonder if someday K-drama would adapt White Snake legend too. D I get your point, there are similarities between Goblin and this drama. Still I can just say that I absolutely adore this Drama. The cast is great, OYS acting my be a little weak, but I think it kind of fit her character the lone and abandoned Child. It just seema so obvious because of Seung Gi' s and CSW strong personalities. There are just a few episodes so far but the storyline is awesome and the characters inclusive their cast are nearly perfect. I'm sorry if my opinions don't go along with you guys. But I think this story is good, is just that Oh Yeon Seo's acting skills are a bit lacking. She could have done better. I love her, I really do ever since Please Come Back Mister. But for this series, she needs more improvement. Lee Seung Gi and Cha Seung Won are truly the best out of the best. And they should also make some improvements on the graphic as well One of those shows where the OTP is so strong ,it overshadows all-even Cha Seung won! Lee Seung Gi is killing it as the Monkey King-didnt think he will suit the role so well. Oh yeon seo is exceptionally pretty here and far better than the Goblin heroine performance wise. The writing is the star here and nothing less was expected when coming from the Hong Sisters. The young actress playing her role in the childhood scenes gave a very natural performance! AM hoping this has a Happy ending -am sure a lot of tears will be shed while getting there! I'm agree with Michel, it's Journey to the West meet twilight~ BUT! I don't care if it's Twilight meets Journey to the West? It's already so long since I feel this hooked with kdrama! The last kdrama that make me can't wait is Goblin, and after a year, finally come this kdrama!! I can't follow every episodes of it everyweek, cause I'm afraid I will wait it up, so yeah I guess after watching the first 2 episodes, I will wait until it's finished, so I can watch it completely?? Alright Michel let's agree that it's twilight meets journey to the west but he already picked a liking to the girl before the magical artifact came into the story. So she needs a powerful god to protect her, its only fair since she was never in a situation like that before and she is in it now because of him. It doesn't make her less independent, strong or whatever. The story isn't shallow at all. I think its genius. Look at it this way Son O-Gong is an arrogant, stubborn and self centered god that could care or less what others thinks or wants, to preserve that image, bringing the magical bracelet to bond him to her was genius. Now he will learn to love and understand other emotions too. It's entertaining and has a good production value but the writing is so shallow at the moment. I don't see the heroine can keep up with her image as an independent and strong woman. Suddenly she needs a magical boyfriend so desperately. I love how Hong's Sisters translate classic story into a modern story.. Like MGIG, this one will be DAEBAK too! Love the cast, though a bit disappointing with Oh Yeon Seo.. Freaky love her in come back mister so, this helpless girl character might not suit her well.. I'm going to keep support this drama till the end!!! This cast is lit af! I didn't watched trailer just read the cast members name and even watched the 1st episode raw even though I only understand some words lol. But it was so good in one episode only sometimes I was laughing my ass off, and sometimes I was shocked or scared due to the random ghost appearances and creepy vibes. The acting is just phenomenal specially cha seung won.. Omg I am in love with this one.. This makes me feel nostalgic like I used to feel while watching goblin, the CG are so good. I'm hooked no one on my current watching list.. A Korean Odyssey Hwayuki... I mean he take his name only... Just be thankful that a good and famous actor like lee seung gi has decided to join in this drama. All of them were high in ratings, this drama will benefit also to his popularity and the general public. Do u really think that the writers and the production staffs were incompetent..?? They know that Csw would be unfit to be tge monkay king.. He is more suitable to be a bull demon. Hong sisters are comeback!! I like all of her's dramas, the drama is good let alone the plays mostly romantic-comedy genre that makes me very much love it. I was wondering why Hong sisters did not target Gong yoo as Woo Hwi-chul and Lee seung gi as Sun wukoong this will be his comeback drama after military service and Park shin hye became the female lead. This will be a successful drama and very hit with the highest rating. And this became a reunion between them Hong sisters, Gong Yoo BiG , Lee seung gi My girlfriend is Gumiho and Park shin hye You're beautiful. But Cha seung won and Park Bo Gum are not so bad, good luck to Hong sisters!
